[00:00:00] From the new recording layer located deep beneath the wine and spirit store in Epirida, Pennsylvania.

[00:00:10] Your listening to the Masonic Lite Podcast.

[00:00:15] Studio 665 presents Masonic Lite Podcast.

[00:00:21] The show is recorded by Mason's, four Mason's and is for entertainment purposes only.

[00:00:28] And please, await your end.

[00:00:32] This podcast is not endorsed by any grand launch and the ridiculous roundlings of the hopes are their own.

[00:00:42] And now here's your house.

[00:00:47] Hey everybody, it's the Masonic Lite Podcast.

[00:00:53] Episode number 174.

[00:00:58] Oh 174.

[00:00:59] There's like a pin or something for 175.

[00:01:02] There is.

[00:01:03] I think we get it like a medallion.

[00:01:04] I think we get a medallion.

[00:01:05] 175 is my favorite number.

[00:01:06] There you go.

[00:01:07] All right.

[00:01:08] Well today is a very significant episode.

[00:01:11] Tell us why Tim.

[00:01:12] It is because on this episode rewound eight years ago, Masonic Lite Podcast was one episode year old.

[00:01:21] One episode was the first episode.

[00:01:24] Yes.

[00:01:25] Okay.

[00:01:26] Eight years ago we recorded the first episode of the Masonic Lite Podcast.

[00:01:30] They record it.

[00:01:31] They record it.

[00:01:32] So prop, slayer and Pete and Mason.

[00:01:36] Mason Givler, not a Mason, yeah.

[00:01:40] Yeah.

[00:01:41] Mason, not a Mason.

[00:01:42] So Larry, going into that first episode, what did you think was going to happen?

[00:01:51] I think my words to Pete when we were at the Academy, we were talking about doing this,

[00:01:58] and words to Pete would nobody will probably listen to us.

[00:02:03] I remember Pete saying that a lot.

[00:02:07] I'm sure nobody would listen, but you're going to give this shot anyway.

[00:02:10] Anyway, it was actually what?

[00:02:13] Show seven.

[00:02:14] Oh yeah.

[00:02:15] And all the time from show one, the show seven, Mason was keeping tabs on it by looking at the

[00:02:23] podcast hosts and seeing a number of listeners that we had.

[00:02:28] And the first six shows he never really brought it up.

[00:02:32] He kept just taking our money.

[00:02:34] We figured he would take.

[00:02:36] Yeah, he's going to do it.

[00:02:37] Why not?

[00:02:38] Yeah, because Pete and I paid for that at the beginning.

[00:02:41] And it's show seven.

[00:02:43] And I think it was Rod Key.

[00:02:45] It was seven, I believe was eight.

[00:02:48] No, I think I was eight.

[00:02:49] You were eight.

[00:02:50] So Rod Key was seven.

[00:02:51] He was a Rod Key.

[00:02:52] Yeah, he kicked it over.

[00:02:53] Yeah.

[00:02:54] There was some talk on it.

[00:02:56] And the thing with Chris Rod Key is a prolific professor at Lancaster Theological Seminary.

[00:03:04] He's written 14 books, scholarly books.

[00:03:08] And he comes out with a coloring book which is one of his best sellers ever had Pete and I just had a hell of a time talking about his coloring book.

[00:03:17] Well, maybe we come back to that whole thing about.

[00:03:19] But, wait, why are we here?

[00:03:21] Who's our sponsor?

[00:03:22] What are we talking about?

[00:03:23] We're still talking.

[00:03:24] Yeah.

[00:03:25] But then we went in and you came.

[00:03:28] You came in the eight show and Mason Givler told us our numbers are going through the roof.

[00:03:32] Right.

[00:03:33] That we have something here.

[00:03:35] So anyway, yeah.

[00:03:36] So it really just goes to show.

[00:03:38] And then we'll get back to the intro.

[00:03:40] Goes to show that no matter how bad you are at something.

[00:03:43] If you say it had it long enough,

[00:03:45] you will eventually find that you have spent a lot of time doing it.

[00:03:49] Oh, okay.

[00:03:50] Good point.

[00:03:51] Okay.

[00:03:52] I'm glad you're good at saying.

[00:03:53] I mean is that pretty out of works?

[00:03:54] I'm glad you're gonna say it.

[00:03:55] Absolutely.

[00:03:56] I mean, that worked.

[00:03:57] You're gonna be successful.

[00:03:58] You're doing it.

[00:03:59] Oh, no, no, no.

[00:04:00] Anyway, happy birthday to us.

[00:04:04] And it's also this would have been Pete's 55th birthday.

[00:04:08] That's it would double nickels.

[00:04:10] Yeah, double nickels.

[00:04:11] We miss you buddy.

[00:04:13] All right.

[00:04:14] So tonight's episode is brought to you by our sponsors.

[00:04:20] Did you write them down?

[00:04:21] I did.

[00:04:22] I didn't know.

[00:04:23] It's from the money.

[00:04:24] So tell us who they were.

[00:04:25] They did digitize them.

[00:04:26] Hyram and Solomon Cigars.

[00:04:28] Okay.

[00:04:29] George J. Grovenson, Scott Ham Electric,

[00:04:32] Intermetso by Stephanie and two pillars of peril.

[00:04:37] Right.

[00:04:38] And another important group of people.

[00:04:41] Our Patreon's.

[00:04:43] Yes, our Patreon's on Patreon.

[00:04:45] A tremendously important part.

[00:04:47] Tell us about them Larry.

[00:04:48] I don't wanna do that Tim.

[00:04:49] Why do you handle that part?

[00:04:50] Hey, good job while it lasted there really.

[00:04:54] All right.

[00:04:55] We do wanna thank our patrons on Patreon.

[00:04:59] You two can be a Patreon supporter for as little as $1.

[00:05:03] $1 freaking people.

[00:05:05] One book, just a bug.

[00:05:08] But patreon.com slash Masonic Light Podcast.

[00:05:11] You can also find us on many social media outlets.

[00:05:16] Masonic Light Podcast at gmail.com.

[00:05:19] We have a website MasonicLight at or MasonicLight.com.

[00:05:26] So I have no idea what's going on.

[00:05:29] But in any case, in studio tonight.

[00:05:31] There is myself.

[00:05:33] There is Jack Harley.

[00:05:35] What?

[00:05:36] There is Larry Maris.

[00:05:37] There is Josh Limerton and Ricky Martini back for command performance.

[00:05:42] Really?

[00:05:43] Look.

[00:05:44] So we have a lot of people who are watching this.

[00:05:47] We have a lot of people who are watching this.

[00:05:49] So we have the time to watch this.

[00:05:50] And we will be back for command performance.

[00:05:52] Yeah.

[00:05:53] So you know, we get these guys new headsets and it's like a kid in the kindergarten.

[00:05:58] We could do it.

[00:05:59] Josh, we've lost all control here.

[00:06:01] So...

[00:06:02] Princess Leia.

[00:06:03] What?

[00:06:04] We need help.

[00:06:05] All right.

[00:06:06] So Larry, what have you been doing MasonicLight since you last gathered?

[00:06:12] Well, let's see.

[00:06:14] He goes in great iron.

[00:06:16] I did it all the time.

[00:06:18] I was in Schippenburg last night.

[00:06:21] Yes, you were.

[00:06:22] I attended a Scottish Right Club in Schippenburg, Pennsylvania.

[00:06:27] Yeah.

[00:06:28] Why were you there?

[00:06:29] Because no one else from the podcast could go.

[00:06:33] So I was the fourth pick.

[00:06:35] Josh was in Ohio.

[00:06:37] You were preparing for today.

[00:06:40] Jack was Schoesberry or something like that.

[00:06:44] I was at Schoesberry.

[00:06:46] You at Schoesberry.

[00:06:48] And to do what?

[00:06:49] To speak about MasonicLight podcast.

[00:06:51] And how did that go?

[00:06:52] I think it went very well.

[00:06:54] That's what I hear.

[00:06:55] Yeah, it was good.

[00:06:56] And it was great saying a lot of people that I knew.

[00:06:59] I think when you get to a certain point in free mass room,

[00:07:02] you get to know especially as you've been around long as I have.

[00:07:05] You get to know a lot of people.

[00:07:08] And when you go to a meeting somewhere, you see these people.

[00:07:11] And I was thinking on the way home last night.

[00:07:14] That's the beauty of being a free Mason

[00:07:17] and being in a fraternity with these guys

[00:07:19] because no matter where you go, you feel it.

[00:07:22] You know people and you feel comfortable.

[00:07:24] And that's overall where I felt.

[00:07:26] Good.

[00:07:27] So awesome.

[00:07:28] Yes.

[00:07:29] Jack, what have you been up to?

[00:07:30] Masonically?

[00:07:31] I've been taking a picture of this whole microphone

[00:07:33] and they're so impressed.

[00:07:35] We had to ask.

[00:07:36] It is.

[00:07:37] I love it.

[00:07:38] It's high tech.

[00:07:39] It's very high tech.

[00:07:40] Well, I came in previous weekend and just came to

[00:07:44] like tidied up the studio and cleaned up the junk drawer

[00:07:47] of the lodge, the basement.

[00:07:49] And just trying to make it a little more bulk of money or whatever.

[00:07:53] So anyway, what have I been doing?

[00:07:56] Masonically, well last night I spoke at Shrewsbury.

[00:08:00] I did the stump-to-speaker thing again.

[00:08:03] And.

[00:08:04] How'd that go?

[00:08:05] It was great.

[00:08:06] It was great.

[00:08:07] The guys were really receptive.

[00:08:10] And it starts out as a stump-to-mason thing.

[00:08:17] And then at the end in order to just sort of close it off,

[00:08:20] I went into the whole St. John thing because we were in an

[00:08:24] entered apprentice lodge but there were three

[00:08:28] fellow crafts in the lodge.

[00:08:30] Okay.

[00:08:31] So that's the perfect time to talk about that whole holy

[00:08:34] St. John thing and they dug it.

[00:08:37] A lot of the oldsters dug it.

[00:08:39] So it was a very nice time.

[00:08:42] I had a lot of fun.

[00:08:45] And I don't know, I missed my home lodge last night but

[00:08:50] I was in a lodge.

[00:08:52] Yeah.

[00:08:53] You're saying it's my lodge.

[00:08:54] Cool.

[00:08:55] Josh, how about you?

[00:08:57] I missed our lodge meeting because of work.

[00:09:01] So I missed my Masonic birthday.

[00:09:04] Oh, yeah.

[00:09:05] You don't get candy, dude, don't you?

[00:09:07] Happy birthday, Josh.

[00:09:08] Happy birthday.

[00:09:09] H-B-D.

[00:09:10] H-B-D.

[00:09:12] And I got together with some brothers and had a nice

[00:09:16] nice get together and talk.

[00:09:19] That's about it.

[00:09:21] Cool.

[00:09:22] Awesome.

[00:09:23] Can I wait before I...

[00:09:25] Yes.

[00:09:26] Come on, Tom.

[00:09:27] Tarekki.

[00:09:28] Yeah.

[00:09:29] I remember that I did with operatives.

[00:09:32] Yes, you did.

[00:09:33] And what happened there?

[00:09:36] Wow.

[00:09:37] I mean the work that went into building the components of

[00:09:41] this thing to schlep in and out of the lodge room,

[00:09:44] the whole lodge set up.

[00:09:46] What degree did you get?

[00:09:47] I got the fourth degree operatives.

[00:09:50] And I just...

[00:09:54] It's really cool.

[00:09:56] If you...

[00:09:59] If there's a Larry, you okay?

[00:10:01] I know CPR.

[00:10:03] Operatives.

[00:10:08] So we just...

[00:10:11] Two years ago, I guess, started an operatives assemblage

[00:10:15] here in...

[00:10:17] Like Mr. County.

[00:10:19] And the work that's done there is really freaking cool.

[00:10:23] And I think we'll do a show...

[00:10:25] Well, I'll just leave it at that.

[00:10:27] We'll do a show on that at some future point.

[00:10:30] But if you have an operatives assemblage near you,

[00:10:36] consider becoming a part of it because

[00:10:41] it's a perspective on that old operative stone work

[00:10:46] that we...

[00:10:49] That enhances what we have in blue lodges.

[00:10:52] It's just very cool.

[00:10:54] Very good.

[00:10:55] All right.

[00:10:56] Now, sorry Ricky.

[00:10:57] Ricky the Pleab.

[00:10:58] Oh, you're good.

[00:10:59] I mean, seriously, I know we talked earlier a little bit about

[00:11:02] the operatives and I have not yet to join.

[00:11:05] I'm very excited to...

[00:11:06] We can fix that.

[00:11:07] To join.

[00:11:08] I had an opportunity last year with Seth, Anthony,

[00:11:12] giving him a petition and...

[00:11:14] I had a lot of...

[00:11:15] Starter of obscure bodies.

[00:11:17] A lot of stuff going on with moving back in the area

[00:11:20] and doing other stuff.

[00:11:21] So, just bad timing but...

[00:11:23] Kind of kicked myself for not doing it last year

[00:11:26] but looking forward to the operatives going forward

[00:11:29] with a very cool amount of information education

[00:11:31] that you can learn from it.

[00:11:33] Cool.

[00:11:34] Last week we had our chapter meeting

[00:11:37] for Perseverance number 21.

[00:11:40] We did something a little different this time.

[00:11:42] This time we did the...

[00:11:43] We distributed our minutes.

[00:11:45] Yeah.

[00:11:46] I'm telling you, the meeting went by...

[00:11:49] And did the sky fall?

[00:11:51] It did not.

[00:11:52] No, it did not.

[00:11:54] See?

[00:11:55] But it went very well.

[00:11:56] The meeting, I'm not saying it went quicker but we had more time for our speaker

[00:12:00] which was Paul Mummer.

[00:12:01] Paul gave a great program and education on ancient masonry

[00:12:08] and it was great and after chapter

[00:12:12] we went down the downstairs afterwards

[00:12:15] and we hung out.

[00:12:17] We socialized, we talked about masonic stuff,

[00:12:21] we talked about personal stuff.

[00:12:23] I think we spent more time socializing

[00:12:27] than we did at the chat room meeting.

[00:12:29] It does happen.

[00:12:30] And...

[00:12:31] God forbid.

[00:12:32] Yeah.

[00:12:33] I think it went well.

[00:12:34] I think it went well.

[00:12:35] We had a lot of stuff going on with that.

[00:12:38] Unfortunately, I missed out on my phone.

[00:12:41] Unfortunately, I missed out on my Blue Lodge meeting.

[00:12:44] I missed out on my command remedi.

[00:12:47] I have a lot of stuff going on outside of masonic stuff right now

[00:12:52] which is really taking up a lot of my time.

[00:12:56] But to be honest, when I was asked to come back here

[00:13:01] to the masonic like podcast,

[00:13:04] I made it a range of time for this.

[00:13:06] Cool.

[00:13:07] I'm glad to be here.

[00:13:08] We're glad to have you.

[00:13:09] I appreciate it.

[00:13:10] Besides all that, I do have extra

[00:13:14] solar eclipse sunglasses for sale.

[00:13:17] Oh, nice.

[00:13:18] Very good.

[00:13:19] If anybody needs anything...

[00:13:20] Yeah, very good.

[00:13:21] I have Christ for the next one.

[00:13:23] Maybe we should add it in there.

[00:13:24] Contact us at masonic light.

[00:13:26] Yep, masonic light.

[00:13:27] We've got to come.

[00:13:28] Yep.

[00:13:29] Or 315-59 Mason.

[00:13:31] There you go.

[00:13:32] Call that number.

[00:13:33] I see how he did that, Larry.

[00:13:34] Half off.

[00:13:35] He's almost like he was reading it.

[00:13:37] It's amazing.

[00:13:39] I have it.

[00:13:40] It's in my phone, it's in my cell phone.

[00:13:42] I call at least once a day.

[00:13:43] Do it.

[00:13:44] Oh, you're the one who called.

[00:13:45] Speaking of...

[00:13:47] Whoever went a listener last week that called that number

[00:13:50] and I made the mistake of answering the call.

[00:13:53] And they were like,

[00:13:55] I wanted to leave a message for you all.

[00:13:57] And I'm like, okay, call back and I won't answer.

[00:13:59] So they never called back.

[00:14:01] Oh my god.

[00:14:02] I'm sure it was very important information.

[00:14:06] I'm not going to leave.

[00:14:07] I'm sure eventually he'll hear this.

[00:14:09] Exactly.

[00:14:11] I was that guy.

[00:14:12] Man, that was me.

[00:14:13] That was me.

[00:14:14] All right.

[00:14:16] So actually I have three things on my list.

[00:14:20] On April 1st, Eureka West Shore,

[00:14:23] a large number of 302 had our stated meeting.

[00:14:26] Prior to that we had our oyster feed.

[00:14:28] We had about 80 people show up for the oyster feed.

[00:14:31] Nice.

[00:14:32] We had a little over 100 present for the large meeting.

[00:14:34] Well, you had a little more than that.

[00:14:36] You had the mechanics board fire department there.

[00:14:38] And we had the mechanics work fire department.

[00:14:40] We had the right oyster.

[00:14:42] We had the right or shippled grandmaster and entourage.

[00:14:45] So I'm up in my office about an hour or so before dinner time.

[00:14:50] And so the stewards are downstairs cooking and everything.

[00:14:53] And all of a sudden the fire alarm goes off.

[00:14:56] And I'm like what the hell?

[00:14:58] So I can downstairs send literally the kitchen is engulfed in this.

[00:15:02] Oh no.

[00:15:03] The hood fan apparently didn't engage properly or whatever.

[00:15:08] And so there's one of them were up there pulling down on something trying to get it to go.

[00:15:12] Oh my god.

[00:15:13] And by the time, so they got it fixed I said all right it's open.

[00:15:16] It's open.

[00:15:17] All right.

[00:15:18] So I'm like all right.

[00:15:19] I'm going outside for a few minutes and get some fresh air.

[00:15:21] And all of a sudden you hear.

[00:15:23] They're coming.

[00:15:27] Here they come.

[00:15:28] I get a text from Ricky going what are you doing burning the building down over there?

[00:15:33] And so yeah.

[00:15:35] Good to know that who responds right?

[00:15:38] Yeah, there you go.

[00:15:39] So that was on April 1st.

[00:15:41] On April 6th I was at the same operatives meeting that Jack was.

[00:15:44] And on April 8th which was Monday.

[00:15:48] Samuel C. Perkins Royal Arch chapter had a meeting.

[00:15:51] I had a good meeting.

[00:15:53] I had a conversation about establishment of goals for the coming year or so.

[00:15:59] And in which body is it?

[00:16:01] A chapter.

[00:16:02] Oh, good.

[00:16:03] And in between was probably working with I don't know 67 lodges on their audits.

[00:16:10] Just round over.

[00:16:13] Oh my gosh.

[00:16:14] Oh my gosh.

[00:16:16] So anyway.

[00:16:18] And then there was last night.

[00:16:22] There you go.

[00:16:24] There it is.

[00:16:25] And I think it's a fitting end to that chapter.

[00:16:28] Right?

[00:16:29] That you get all those lodged audits doing what to you?

[00:16:32] Yeah.

[00:16:33] And then I got to call an Oscar be right.

[00:16:35] I'm not sure which was more painful.

[00:16:36] I wasn't going to say what it was.

[00:16:38] I'm not sure which was more painful.

[00:16:39] The breath of the goal of an Oscar be working with 67.

[00:16:42] Well, just look at this way.

[00:16:43] The at least a procedure started and ended true.

[00:16:48] The lodge audits.

[00:16:49] The calls never end.

[00:16:50] That's right.

[00:16:51] Yeah, we're on the way down here.

[00:16:52] Just remember seeing it all comes out in the end.

[00:16:55] That's right, it does all come out in the end.

[00:16:57] All right, we're going to take a quick break and we're going to come back

[00:17:00] and we're going to talk about something I'm not sure what.

[00:17:03] But we'll find out in a minute.

[00:17:05] Stuff.

[00:17:52] And we're back.

[00:18:16] And we're back.

[00:18:18] We don't know where we are and we don't really know where we're going tonight.

[00:18:21] We had a guest schedule tonight, but for complicated reasons it didn't work out.

[00:18:27] So tonight it's just the five of us sitting around the table talking about Masonic stuff.

[00:18:33] Sometimes as these things go,

[00:18:36] we just the first thing we started talking about was operatives.

[00:18:39] And I'm okay going a little bit further with operatives because I think it's something that I think is going to be,

[00:18:46] it's going to certainly spread around the country more than it has.

[00:18:51] Because it's just so freaking awesome.

[00:18:55] And do we know how widespread it is across the country?

[00:18:59] Oh man, I want to say there might,

[00:19:02] there's like 20 some assemblages in the US or something like that.

[00:19:06] So 20 or 50 is what sticks to it?

[00:19:09] So what local appended bodies would people relate to as operatives around here in PA?

[00:19:18] Well, I mean it, there really isn't one.

[00:19:22] Operatives is its own thing.

[00:19:25] It's available to any master Mason I believe.

[00:19:28] You have to be in chapter.

[00:19:30] I think you have to be in chapter to be a member.

[00:19:33] Oh, I'm not 100% sure.

[00:19:35] In any case, okay, we'll go with that.

[00:19:38] More strict as you can make it the better.

[00:19:41] But I don't think it, if it compares to anything, it would be blue lodge.

[00:19:47] Because it is the stone makers guild.

[00:19:50] It was compiled by a fellow back in the 1870s or something like that,

[00:19:56] who had been an operative stone Mason in the Stone Mason's guild in England.

[00:20:01] And then when they went to the new labor union system,

[00:20:06] the guild collapsed.

[00:20:08] And there was just nothing left of the guilds.

[00:20:10] So all of the history for the previous 600 years just ended when they made that conversion.

[00:20:18] And this guy looked back on it as a free Mason.

[00:20:23] He looked back on what he learned as an operative Mason and he said,

[00:20:27] I can't let the ceremony just go away.

[00:20:32] So he collected a lot of the ritual work and it's phenomenal.

[00:20:37] I mean, it's so different.

[00:20:40] And it's so focused on the builder's trade.

[00:20:43] It's like there's no...

[00:20:45] The symbols are allegories.

[00:20:48] I don't know how to say this, but it's not like you look at a symbol

[00:20:52] and you think about a thing and then you think about an allegory.

[00:20:55] This is like these people were laying rocks.

[00:21:00] And these are the things they were thinking about when they were in the rocks.

[00:21:03] As I've done programs in the past where operatives is what the physical use of whatever they were doing.

[00:21:09] Right.

[00:21:10] It was speculated as more like as in Blue Lages, we use these tools for...

[00:21:15] Right.

[00:21:16] The philosophical reason for it.

[00:21:18] Yeah, absolutely.

[00:21:21] And the idea of an operative's assemblage,

[00:21:25] whoever is listening to this, look around for it if it's happening near you

[00:21:33] and you're interested in where did this come from?

[00:21:40] It's fascinating to see...

[00:21:44] At the unfortunate, we can't talk about the rituals.

[00:21:49] I'm in a couple of invitational things or whatever.

[00:21:54] A couple of them are like a league of extraordinary gentlemen.

[00:21:58] You're surrounded by terrific people.

[00:22:02] But in the operatives, you're in the quarry.

[00:22:07] You're on the job site.

[00:22:10] And you have to pace this thing off in order to make sure that it's this.

[00:22:15] It's just a very cool vibe.

[00:22:19] It seems very intriguing.

[00:22:22] It leaves me out of nowhere.

[00:22:24] I'm excited to want to join and be a part of it.

[00:22:27] It's very cool.

[00:22:29] Our particular assemblage meets on the...

[00:22:32] Fifth Saturday.

[00:22:34] Every other third, fifth Saturday or...

[00:22:37] Unless it isn't.

[00:22:42] When the fifth Saturday falls on Memorial Day, it's not the fifth Saturday.

[00:22:46] Or the cookout of somebody that can't miss.

[00:22:49] We're trying to minimize that.

[00:22:51] So the official name of the organization is the Worshipful Society of Freemasons,

[00:22:56] Rough Masons, Wallars, Slaters, Pabiers, Plasterores.

[00:23:04] Except it's not spelled that way.

[00:23:06] It's Plasterores, yeah.

[00:23:07] And Brick Layers.

[00:23:09] It was operative or guild masons were organized in England.

[00:23:14] And as they began to die off in the around 926,

[00:23:18] some of these other organizations like this began to form.

[00:23:22] And it was not until like the 1800s, as you said,

[00:23:25] that they started to...

[00:23:27] Over here, the qualifications are...

[00:23:29] Membership is restricted to regular Freemasons who are mastermasons,

[00:23:33] Mark mastermasons, and Royal Archmasons.

[00:23:36] Got it standing.

[00:23:37] Okay, so good call.

[00:23:38] Yeah.

[00:23:39] And there are seven degrees.

[00:23:42] The sixth is an honorary, and the seventh is like you have to be...

[00:23:47] Like the grand height...

[00:23:49] Donate to $3 million to your local...

[00:23:52] I think it refers more to the office that you've...

[00:23:55] I think it's already told.

[00:23:57] But it's...

[00:23:59] In Pennsylvania, I think we have two.

[00:24:01] I think there's a third.

[00:24:03] Is there a third one?

[00:24:05] Maybe I'm Pittsburgh?

[00:24:06] I'm not 100% sure, but I think there's a third.

[00:24:10] But anyway...

[00:24:11] Where's Seth when you need him?

[00:24:13] I don't know.

[00:24:14] But, you know, we reach...

[00:24:16] You know, what is it Larry now?

[00:24:18] We leap.

[00:24:19] Like 400 trillion people on three planets.

[00:24:22] Six planets.

[00:24:23] So somebody at their home lodge somewhere out of state

[00:24:26] is going to listen to this and think...

[00:24:28] You know that...

[00:24:29] That's an opera thing.

[00:24:30] That sounds pretty cool.

[00:24:31] Yeah, if you have any information about operative masonry

[00:24:34] to help us educate ourselves...

[00:24:36] Call 215-59 mason.

[00:24:39] Do you have us for members that are different from Seth?

[00:24:42] Tim will answer that phone call.

[00:24:45] Yeah.

[00:24:46] Or you can leave a message and he'll call back later.

[00:24:49] Anyway.

[00:24:50] Yeah.

[00:24:52] So anyway, so that's anybody...

[00:24:54] You want to throw anything in?

[00:24:55] What's your take on operative?

[00:24:57] No, I mean the thing I really like about it is the deliberate nature

[00:25:02] in which you progress.

[00:25:03] Oh yeah, it's very...

[00:25:05] You know, it's like one a year.

[00:25:06] As much as we try to fly people through blue lodge degrees anymore.

[00:25:11] Right.

[00:25:12] This is one where you were indentured.

[00:25:17] I think I'm violating anything by saying that.

[00:25:22] For a period of time and you have to come to so many meetings,

[00:25:25] you have to do a bunch of stuff.

[00:25:27] And at some point, then you progress.

[00:25:29] And then you do a bunch of other stuff and attend another bunch of meetings.

[00:25:34] So it's not just dictated by the calendar.

[00:25:37] Yeah.

[00:25:38] And I really like that.

[00:25:39] What is up with Larry?

[00:25:40] I have no idea.

[00:25:41] Larry.

[00:25:42] Did the gummies kick in finally?

[00:25:46] He's been on a roll most of the day.

[00:25:48] I'll talk and break.

[00:25:50] Oh my word.

[00:25:52] Josh, record through break.

[00:25:54] Yeah.

[00:25:55] But anyway, no, I really like that part of it.

[00:25:59] The other thing I like about it is it brings people in from a wide circle around us.

[00:26:06] Geographically, yeah.

[00:26:07] So in our...

[00:26:08] Yeah, there's guys in there I wouldn't know.

[00:26:10] There's guys in Harrisburg, there's guys in Lancaster, there's guys from York,

[00:26:14] there's guys from other parts of the state that you wouldn't necessarily see

[00:26:18] in other appended bodies even.

[00:26:21] And it's a small group.

[00:26:23] It's not a large group at all.

[00:26:27] Really enjoying it.

[00:26:29] I don't know, he's done it.

[00:26:31] Larry's cracking himself.

[00:26:32] One of the things you'll learn, Ricky is at some point you should stand like

[00:26:37] draw the curtain.

[00:26:38] That's right.

[00:26:40] It's like a window at Macy's.

[00:26:42] You cannot do anything but look.

[00:26:45] It's the train wreck.

[00:26:48] As far back as the mid-1800s, records exist describing the pre-meaning tradition of

[00:27:00] brethren smoking cigars during and after gatherings.

[00:27:04] To this day, the practice of smoking cigars remains very much alive in many lodges.

[00:27:10] This custom is considered a time for brethren to relax, exchange ideas,

[00:27:15] and enjoy the simplicity and fellowship.

[00:27:18] It is the very essence of our brotherhood.

[00:27:21] This is what Hyraman Solomon cigars is all about.

[00:27:24] Our starting principles are to bring Masonic brethren together in the harmony of a good cigar.

[00:27:29] Pull up a chair, sit back, light up any of our premium cigars, and enjoy the history.

[00:27:36] Hyraman Solomon cigars can be found at Fine Cigar Retailers.

[00:27:42] To complete this list, visit HyramanSolomonSigars.com or check them out on social media to find out when they'll be at a live event near you.

[00:27:51] Hyraman Solomon cigars is pleased to be the official cigar of the Masonic Light Podcast.

[00:28:03] And we're back. Larry has returned from Wincycain.

[00:28:10] He's being reinvested with that of Wichim Westivest earlier.

[00:28:14] Good job, Larry.

[00:28:16] Good job.

[00:28:18] One of the things I've been able to visit many lodges across the state as I know many of you all have to.

[00:28:27] It occurred to me that one of the things we might want to talk about is being more intentional,

[00:28:35] particularly if you're not used to having visitors come for preparing for when that visitor walks in.

[00:28:43] You mean people visit blue lodges?

[00:28:45] Yeah, imagine that.

[00:28:47] Yes.

[00:28:48] So smart people do that.

[00:28:51] Yeah.

[00:28:52] So Ricky, what in your lodge, what happens when somebody visits...

[00:29:00] Well, when we have visitors at our lodge, at our blue lodge, using our senior and junior warden will be the ones that greet everyone.

[00:29:07] Every member, every visitor, if they're visiting from another lodge, they'll get their visitor pass

[00:29:15] that they fill out their slip and they'll review it if they need to be examined because someone doesn't know them.

[00:29:23] Then we'll put them in the examining room and go through that ritual.

[00:29:29] But for the most part, it's to make them feel part of the lodge.

[00:29:34] I mean they're part of the family.

[00:29:36] If they're visiting, it's an experience.

[00:29:38] Just like if you were to go to a concert and see a band play or go to Disneyland,

[00:29:44] you're paying money to go for the entertainment for the purposes of being with people.

[00:29:50] Blue lodges same way.

[00:29:52] Exactly.

[00:29:53] One of the things that...

[00:29:56] I'm not sure how it started, it just kind of organically began, but it's similar to what you described before the master calls the officers to order.

[00:30:10] Other than myself setting up at the secretaries desk collecting checks and answering questions

[00:30:17] and the same thing with the treasure and the master getting his stuff together,

[00:30:22] everybody else in the lodge that's in a chair is moving about the lodge, greeting people.

[00:30:29] When you come in, if you shake hands with fewer than eight people, then we've kind of failed.

[00:30:36] Now when I was a...

[00:30:37] When I was a orchal master which was not that long ago,

[00:30:43] sometimes I would run close to starting time because I would go around the lodge and I would greet everyone and talk to everyone.

[00:30:56] Sometimes conversations would go a little longer than necessary, but that's where I'm there for.

[00:31:04] I'm there to talk to them and communicate with them.

[00:31:08] The last time I went to a stadium meeting, which is a little bit ago because I've been busy here.

[00:31:15] It was earlier in the year and I remember that the junior weren't being asked.

[00:31:20] Everyone here of Master Mason and he looked around the room and he tells the worst from Master to everyone.

[00:31:26] Afterwards I told them, I said, you don't need to look around the room because you should greet everyone and know before the lodge starts.

[00:31:35] Everyone there is a Master Mason or fellow grab wherever, to greet or opening the lodge in.

[00:31:42] You are 100% sure that everyone there is a Master Mason.

[00:31:46] It was one of the first things that I experienced because culturally I'm going to admit we're in the middle of Pennsylvania Dutch country.

[00:31:56] While the Pennsylvania Dutch in general would give you the shirt off their back, they just won't say hello.

[00:32:02] They just don't. There's something culturally here and maybe it's me, maybe I have a force field or something.

[00:32:09] Overall we don't like people.

[00:32:13] It's not even that.

[00:32:16] I don't even want to say it's with a German heritage because it's just not.

[00:32:20] Everybody who is here has been here for six generations.

[00:32:25] There's no need for anyone new and I know what I know and that's what I know.

[00:32:31] That's fine. I give you that.

[00:32:34] When you walk into a lodge room, if the people in the lodge room don't know you, you should be made the most important person at the meeting.

[00:32:48] That's how you just extend brotherly love.

[00:32:54] I said look at the guy and say, I don't know the guy. Who's that person?

[00:33:00] That's terrible. That's absolutely the opposite of what Mason should be.

[00:33:07] The lodges that welcome people like that, I commend you. It's so easy.

[00:33:15] Just do it. Just go say hi.

[00:33:18] I like to see how they do things.

[00:33:23] Either whether it's in Pennsylvania or other states, I'll wear their regular lodge apron.

[00:33:30] Oh no, I heard my past master.

[00:33:35] I'm wearing my apron.

[00:33:39] The only time I wear my past master's apron is if I'm conferring a degree and I don't want to switch aprons.

[00:33:46] So then I'll put it on just first miciminiac.

[00:33:51] If you were a regional instructor, we would be wise and the least portion of the project.

[00:33:57] But besides that, I'm there for to see what they do.

[00:34:03] It has nothing to do with me.

[00:34:06] I'm there for their experience of what they do. That's why I go to there.

[00:34:12] In rest respect, when a visitor comes to your lodge from a different state, different region or district,

[00:34:23] you need to make them their your top priority.

[00:34:28] Because that's an experience.

[00:34:31] You want them to come back. They're going to talk to other members of their lodge saying,

[00:34:36] hey, I was in Harrisburg tonight or lodged number 629.

[00:34:40] They're like the masters, the officers there were great.

[00:34:45] They came over to meet or talking to me and we went downstairs afterwards and socialized and hung out.

[00:34:53] Those are memories and that's stuff they don't forget.

[00:34:57] One of the reasons you travel is to experience it.

[00:35:01] In hindsight, people will also remember more especially the bad visits.

[00:35:12] Which we try not to tend that way but unfortunately there's instances or stories I've heard in the past from brother and that they go and visit a lodge and nobody talks to them.

[00:35:29] Usually that occurs after the meeting when somebody goes, are you new?

[00:35:34] No, I'm visiting from such and such. I don't know. Glad you could come tonight.

[00:35:39] Like you said, that should occur when you walk in the door.

[00:35:44] Really?

[00:35:49] How are the fillies doing?

[00:35:54] He's playing candy crush.

[00:35:57] I was looking at a historical fact that I'm sorry.

[00:36:00] Do you think that not only affects blue lodge but other independent bodies?

[00:36:05] No, I do. I think it's important for any organization.

[00:36:11] We're here to talk about free masonry but it doesn't matter what organization it is.

[00:36:16] If you have guests, you should make them feel welcome.

[00:36:20] I mean, how hard is that?

[00:36:24] Why does that need to be taught?

[00:36:28] It should be the core of who we are.

[00:36:30] You're a brother from somewhere else but let's get to know you.

[00:36:34] But it is uncomfortable sometimes.

[00:36:39] I mean guys, not everybody's brought up that way and it's cultural to a large degree.

[00:36:45] I remember walking through the lodge the first time I came through the door after I had the one day class thing somewhere else.

[00:36:51] I walked into the lodge and I just found some old guy on the side and I went over and I stuck out my hand.

[00:36:57] I said, hi, my name's Jack and he grabbed me by the hand and he said, what is this?

[00:37:03] And I said a grip.

[00:37:06] He said all right then.

[00:37:10] That was as far as it got.

[00:37:13] It's like done.

[00:37:15] Great ice harder.

[00:37:19] It's not that hard to make people feel welcome.

[00:37:23] Like dinner before the meetings, if there's a table that's all tuxedos facing in, you're missing the point.

[00:37:31] Open that up and spread out a little bit.

[00:37:36] I say like everybody spread out and one tuxedo at every table.

[00:37:41] No, that's whatever.

[00:37:43] But for crying out loud don't sit with your back to everybody.

[00:37:47] I mean that's turn around.

[00:37:51] Be inviting.

[00:37:54] What did you find out Larry?

[00:37:56] What did you find out?

[00:37:58] Caesar Rodney.

[00:38:01] Who?

[00:38:02] Go on.

[00:38:03] Is it delegate?

[00:38:05] Is it delegate?

[00:38:06] Sit down, John.

[00:38:07] Yes.

[00:38:08] Delaware.

[00:38:09] Yeah.

[00:38:10] New York abstains.

[00:38:12] Cooody, it's perneously.

[00:38:13] Well we were talking about visiting other lodges.

[00:38:17] We had a, we carol and I called the, no, we had to place in Lewis Delaware and there was

[00:38:27] a beautiful old lodge in downtown Lewis.

[00:38:30] Yes there is.

[00:38:31] And Caesar Rodney used to visit his family lived in that area.

[00:38:34] Oh really?

[00:38:35] I think he was from the Dover area or something like that but his family and they went to

[00:38:41] that lodge.

[00:38:42] And I always wanted to go visit that lodge.

[00:38:44] I have never been in it.

[00:38:45] I've walked past it a hundred times.

[00:38:47] Yeah exactly.

[00:38:48] And it was, we were always down there weekends and consequently you didn't, you know, never made

[00:38:53] it to a meeting.

[00:38:54] But I understand.

[00:38:55] So Lewis Delaware lodge put out a sign someday and say open house come on in.

[00:38:59] Yes.

[00:39:00] And we'll be there.

[00:39:01] Well you know we'll do a show from there.

[00:39:04] Yeah, we would.

[00:39:05] Alright so let's hear it.

[00:39:07] Alright Lewis Delaware reach out.

[00:39:09] Anyway.

[00:39:10] So speaking of guests and back to our, the operatives conversation a moment ago.

[00:39:18] You know we got to that point where you were moving on to the next degree and some of us weren't

[00:39:25] able to stay in the room.

[00:39:27] And so we took advantage of it to extend Masonic fellowship in front of the Lancaster Masonic

[00:39:33] center by enjoying a nice higherman Solomon cigar brotherhood of the leaf.

[00:39:39] That's right.

[00:39:41] And there was a gentleman and a lady that were standing there obviously getting their picture

[00:39:47] taken.

[00:39:48] And so we walked up and offered to take their picture.

[00:39:52] And this other guy comes up and he goes, he's amazing.

[00:39:56] Oh that's great.

[00:39:57] They were standing by the big sign.

[00:39:58] They were standing by the big sign.

[00:40:00] And he goes, he's from Brazil.

[00:40:03] So the language barrier was nothing we were going to overcome.

[00:40:07] Portia standing there.

[00:40:09] But so we took his picture and then he wanted a picture with us standing with him.

[00:40:16] And so we talked a little bit and then about that time.

[00:40:19] Give him one of your Masonic late podcast trading cards.

[00:40:22] I get it.

[00:40:23] Oh we should do those.

[00:40:24] You're here Tom Jackson talk about what they pay to be a Mason in Brazil.

[00:40:28] Yeah.

[00:40:29] It's astounding.

[00:40:30] Yeah.

[00:40:31] Big bucks.

[00:40:32] Yep exactly.

[00:40:33] And a huge investment in time.

[00:40:36] So I think the to summarize, if you don't have some intentionality around your visiting of guests,

[00:40:45] please take that back.

[00:40:46] That's a good term for intentionality.

[00:40:48] I mean when you walk through the door, you should, everybody should have the same mindset.

[00:40:53] I want, if there's a new face here, I want to know who it is.

[00:40:56] Yep.

[00:40:57] And I want to make him feel comfortable.

[00:40:58] And that, that's a great attitude to address anybody that's new coming into your lodge.

[00:41:03] Absolutely.

[00:41:04] Whether it's a guest or even just a new brother.

[00:41:08] Yeah.

[00:41:09] Or somebody that's been there a couple of times and keeps coming back again.

[00:41:13] Yeah.

[00:41:14] Or you know, a new Mason.

[00:41:16] Yeah.

[00:41:17] New.

[00:41:18] Absolutely.

[00:41:19] Yeah.

[00:41:20] So.

[00:41:21] And I think the intentionality, I didn't think it was a word.

[00:41:24] I looked it up at it.

[00:41:25] Oh, you got to call him out.

[00:41:26] No, I was.

[00:41:27] Oh, you were.

[00:41:28] Where he was going to.

[00:41:29] You were going to clap.

[00:41:30] Oh man.

[00:41:32] Oh, scum.

[00:41:33] How can you call these?

[00:41:35] Just in case I get that word and scrap all I wanted to make sure it was legitimate.

[00:41:39] V Tim Deadman, no.

[00:41:41] Mike drop.

[00:41:42] Oh my word.

[00:41:44] All right.

[00:41:46] I'll be throwing here in a minute.

[00:41:48] Did I ever tell you the incident I had with Tim at Aaron council?

[00:41:56] No, this was fun.

[00:41:57] Yeah, this was fun.

[00:41:58] So we both got initiated in the air and council at the same time, same day.

[00:42:05] And we went through our degrees, which is outstanding.

[00:42:09] Or like ten on this or something.

[00:42:10] But anybody that's never going through it, Aaron council, the degrees are spectacular.

[00:42:14] The information and the ritual is fantastic.

[00:42:19] And afterwards, they told us to go on a row and stand up and throw us design.

[00:42:26] And basically talk about ourselves or thank everyone or wherever you wanted to say.

[00:42:33] So it was my turn to stand up.

[00:42:36] And I start talking and they're like, this is the sign.

[00:42:40] You got to throw the sign.

[00:42:42] So I was, oh, oh, God.

[00:42:45] God, I mess this up.

[00:42:47] So I throw the sign and go and I go, oh, my name is Tim Deadman.

[00:42:52] Because Tim's standing, he's standing in the left of me.

[00:42:54] He's next.

[00:42:55] And of course, most people knew him in there.

[00:42:59] So they start laughing.

[00:43:00] And I say, I just want to thank everyone for everything.

[00:43:03] And I sat down and of course Tim stood up and goes, well, I'm the Tim Deadman.

[00:43:09] That story, the title of the Tim Deadman actually preceded that event by about a year and a half

[00:43:19] to some brethren up in the northern part of Pennsylvania who are listeners.

[00:43:25] And this father says, I want to take, I got to take a picture with you.

[00:43:30] My son and I listened to your show all the time.

[00:43:33] And I got to send it to him.

[00:43:35] And so the guys that were with me were giving me a hard time.

[00:43:40] Two weeks later, we're in another location and then a break at God comes up and he goes,

[00:43:45] hey, you're the Tim Deadman that's on the Masonic Lightpods.

[00:43:48] The Tim Deadman.

[00:43:49] Yeah.

[00:43:50] Oh, man.

[00:43:51] You're going to get a license plate that says the.

[00:43:54] That's just put the.

[00:43:55] That's it.

[00:43:56] The tea.

[00:43:57] All right.

[00:43:58] We're going to take another break and we'll come back and figure out where we are.

[00:44:05] Looking for a way to show your Masonic pride and affiliation, but also want to have a relaxed look.

[00:44:15] Two pillars of peril is a Masonic owned company that incorporates sports apparel with free masonry.

[00:44:21] Check out their current lines from Blue Lodge as well as the appended bodies York and Scottish right.

[00:44:36] Two pillars apparel works for large social functions are going to the game.

[00:44:40] Visit them at two pillars apparel dot com.

[00:44:42] That's T-W-O.

[00:44:44] Pillars apparel dot com.

[00:44:53] And we're back.

[00:44:54] What?

[00:44:55] Whoa.

[00:44:56] Whoa.

[00:44:57] My neck hurts.

[00:44:59] One of the things that I want to talk about and we briefly discussed it when we opened the show, but we begin really this dare to this this week recording our first show downtown Lancaster at the studio.

[00:45:20] So we begin our eighth year which for me it's hard to grasp.

[00:45:25] We just completed our eighth year.

[00:45:27] No, we didn't.

[00:45:28] Yeah, man.

[00:45:29] What?

[00:45:30] Yep, eight years completed arithmetic geometry music and astronomy.

[00:45:37] One, two, two.

[00:45:38] This is the arithmetic.

[00:45:39] No, wait a minute.

[00:45:40] We completed it.

[00:45:41] It literally knows the six liberal arts.

[00:45:43] This is blowing my mind.

[00:45:46] I'm still, you know, and I told everybody last night we're beginning our eighth year.

[00:45:50] Oh my gosh.

[00:45:51] Well, we're doing our ninth series.

[00:45:54] We'll be getting your ninth year.

[00:45:55] Next show will begin our ninth year.

[00:45:56] Good Lord.

[00:45:57] Next show.

[00:45:59] So that would make this the last episode of our eighth year.

[00:46:05] Did you hear how everybody got to hit the safe talk?

[00:46:08] Yeah, there you go.

[00:46:09] Now this is what this is unexpected because I'm.

[00:46:14] I get apparently in another dimension or another parallel or whatever heck.

[00:46:18] But anyway, how's our ratings?

[00:46:19] Wanted to talk about the fact that because we you know we're celebrating being around as long as we have been.

[00:46:28] Talking about some of the older shows and you guys are going to have to help me here because.

[00:46:33] Being an older gentleman, my mind doesn't function the way it used to when I was like 30 and 40.

[00:46:40] Did it ever.

[00:46:41] Lots of things don't function well anymore.

[00:46:44] But we signed the week.

[00:46:47] Larry, I can't help you with that.

[00:46:49] I was like five years old when the show started.

[00:46:54] But anyway, we wanted to talk a little bit about some of the shows we did.

[00:46:58] Yeah, so actually I pulled up our episode guide.

[00:47:02] Oh no.

[00:47:03] Episode eight was Brother Jack Harley.

[00:47:06] Yep.

[00:47:07] And the Reverend Dr. Chris Rocky was number nine.

[00:47:10] Yeah.

[00:47:11] Oh, so it was Jack that jacked us up.

[00:47:14] Something like that.

[00:47:15] Yeah, okay.

[00:47:16] Jack, don't pun intended on that.

[00:47:18] Something like that.

[00:47:19] We got the stats after Chris Rodney was on the show though.

[00:47:23] Yes.

[00:47:24] But you were you came back.

[00:47:26] You were there for Chris when we interviewed him?

[00:47:28] No, no, I don't think it was there for Chris's interview.

[00:47:31] But it was a couple episodes later that I came back.

[00:47:34] Yeah, you came back kind of sort of for good like well,

[00:47:37] or a teen or fifteen or something like that.

[00:47:39] Yeah, we're popping in and out.

[00:47:40] They came back a couple times and then it just stuck.

[00:47:43] Yeah.

[00:47:44] Sorry.

[00:47:45] No, no, no, no, no, it was a reason to be sorry.

[00:47:47] It's glad to have you here.

[00:47:49] So there were some significant episodes.

[00:47:51] And I think I've shared on previous episodes I've been going back trying to listen to the archives.

[00:47:57] And there was a turn into a pillar of salt.

[00:48:00] Right, exactly.

[00:48:01] Turn your eyes from the Horde site.

[00:48:05] The episode where you had a community counselor from the last year.

[00:48:15] Oh, yeah, yeah.

[00:48:17] He ran like a drug rehab facility.

[00:48:20] Can't remember exactly how powerful.

[00:48:22] Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:48:24] Oh, come on.

[00:48:26] This is old guy memory here now.

[00:48:31] Talk amongst yourselves.

[00:48:33] Okay.

[00:48:34] Anyway, you know, I think that was hugely successful.

[00:48:39] I think the first episode that we did with our friend from Canada, not Nathan Lane,

[00:48:48] the other one.

[00:48:50] Nicholas Lane.

[00:48:51] There we go.

[00:48:53] Where he basically interviewed the podcast team.

[00:48:58] Yes.

[00:49:00] If you have never heard that, when you should go back because he forced Pete and Larry in particular to talk about your vision for the show.

[00:49:09] Yeah.

[00:49:10] And talked about where you wanted to see the show go.

[00:49:14] And as I went back and listened to that, it made me realize that really did kind of chart the course for kind of the next iteration of the show

[00:49:25] that really continued to build on itself.

[00:49:29] Yeah.

[00:49:30] And I was thinking on my way over to Shipanceburg last night, I wish I would have listened to that because I could have gotten some more ideas about your,

[00:49:39] you're like, you said the vision or the mission statement or whatever you want to call it.

[00:49:44] And again, that was definitely a very pivotal show was what I know when I listen to it.

[00:49:50] I think Pete, no, Pete never listened to the show.

[00:49:52] He didn't carry the story.

[00:49:54] No, he never heard an episode.

[00:49:57] Yeah, that was definitely really.

[00:50:03] Also too, remember the, and again, I don't have the list in front of me, but the gentleman that came down from Scranton, who is the magazine publisher in O'Huehmeen.

[00:50:16] I got nothing.

[00:50:17] Oh, going from.

[00:50:19] Oh, he published the, I think that I think the one thing that goes to the Harvard, or the Harvard library, Harvard Library.

[00:50:29] What magazine was that?

[00:50:31] He did an article on us in Brian, Brian.

[00:50:34] Oh, yes.

[00:50:37] I have his card.

[00:50:39] Wow.

[00:50:40] He was fantastic.

[00:50:42] He was great.

[00:50:43] Yes.

[00:50:44] And the residual publicity we got after him being here.

[00:50:48] There's been some absolutely unbelievable.

[00:50:50] There's been some great guests.

[00:50:51] We have no idea why they want to talk to us, but they do.

[00:50:53] Yeah.

[00:50:54] I think for me, the most fun was Lodge 49.

[00:50:58] That was those guys were.

[00:51:00] Oh yeah, remember that.

[00:51:01] And Pete and I recorded that in my son room on my house in Mount Bell.

[00:51:05] That was very special.

[00:51:07] So Ricky's looking like he doesn't have a clue.

[00:51:10] Lodge 49 was an AMC program.

[00:51:13] Yeah, it was a TV series.

[00:51:16] And it was this imaginary Lodge, which is kind of a mashup of masonry and elks and mooses and all of whatever.

[00:51:27] And we had the producers on the show and the two writers, the two writers of the show.

[00:51:37] And it was just interesting to hear their perspective on that show and how it related to a free masonry that they knew about in their lives and parents and stuff.

[00:51:47] The Lodge 49 is still available.

[00:51:49] I want to watch it.

[00:51:50] The producer.

[00:51:51] The Goldie Hans son, right?

[00:51:54] I think that's right.

[00:51:56] Yeah.

[00:51:57] So my, I guess my take of it, I mean, I haven't been around the Masonic Light podcast for the years.

[00:52:07] I've been out, get out for a couple months, even though I've been listening for quite a few years.

[00:52:14] And I guess the question that comes concerning is, not concerning, I guess, but the question that comes up is when you started Masonic Light podcast.

[00:52:25] Did it really like question or endanger like masonry in general to the public going, what information are they going to give out to the public?

[00:52:38] I feel safe in saying that there were many Masonic jurisdictions that feared that.

[00:52:44] I think there was a lot of including Pennsylvania.

[00:52:48] Yeah, it's not pretend that it can't be.

[00:52:50] I mean, I can't blame them.

[00:52:51] There was some hucker factor going on there and what really it takes going to do.

[00:52:56] And really, it wasn't until right, Werschville Grandmaster S. Eugene Herrett came in here of his own free will on court,

[00:53:06] apart from, was it really though?

[00:53:09] It really was.

[00:53:10] I mean, it was well other than Larry standing up in front of a larger research and invite name that.

[00:53:17] But the fact he can, I think it really did kind of peel back the glass a little bit for grand lodge and it opened the doors.

[00:53:27] Let's just put it that way.

[00:53:28] And the doors for us to have others on his guests that otherwise maybe would have thought twice or thought again about it and maybe hadn't accepted our invites before then.

[00:53:42] Well, they hadn't really rejected them.

[00:53:44] They just ignored them completely right.

[00:53:47] What?

[00:53:48] It's it's just very, it's very intriguing and to be honest with you like when you listen to past grandmasters

[00:53:56] or anyone from the grand lodge staff, be on the show and be asked questions.

[00:54:03] You learn a lot about the person.

[00:54:05] Yeah.

[00:54:06] Oh yeah.

[00:54:07] Not about the position or the office they hold.

[00:54:09] But you learn about the person and it makes them so more personable about where they're from and what they're doing.

[00:54:17] And they're like, well, you know just like you and me.

[00:54:19] What you don't understand about what you've just said is that exactly what those two, the original two Larry and Pete, that's what they wanted.

[00:54:29] They wanted to just bring on regular guys to talk about masonry and just be regular dudes.

[00:54:34] And to hear you say that, that's still working.

[00:54:38] It is.

[00:54:39] That's great.

[00:54:40] It's a phenomenal that they created and it's something that's well if you keep me and on the show me maybe it won't last.

[00:54:48] But for others that are a lot smarter to me.

[00:54:53] It's very intuitive about the members of lodges and different components of masonry in Pennsylvania that we interview on a week on a

[00:55:08] program by monthly program here and learn about their personable stuff and how it directs them to be

[00:55:21] very dedicated in their Masonic career.

[00:55:26] How it affects them in their whole life?

[00:55:29] How we learn more about them and their goals and future endeavors in masonry.

[00:55:35] And that's true. One of the things too that I always like hearing and Tim always gives us these kind of positive messages.

[00:55:45] And I run into it as well.

[00:55:48] New masons, new brothers that have gone through or are the first or second or third degree, they're younger guys.

[00:55:55] They come up to me, they come up to Tim and they say, thank you for doing what you do because I learned more from you.

[00:56:04] And I am learning in lodge and it's made, well maybe that's not a way to phrase it.

[00:56:11] But of course they were learning lodge.

[00:56:13] But I think what we conveyed to them was more fun and learning.

[00:56:17] And they love the show.

[00:56:19] And I think I ran into some fellow that got his first degree at our lodge in Miller'sville and I listen to your show.

[00:56:27] He said because I listen to your show is the reason I'm going through.

[00:56:31] I've heard that more than once.

[00:56:33] To me, that's always amazing to hear that.

[00:56:36] That we've had that kind of an impact on people.

[00:56:40] Exactly.

[00:56:42] Or when you go to a meeting somewhere like the Academy and people walk up to you and say, you're Larry Mirrors.

[00:56:50] Yeah, I recognize your voice.

[00:56:53] Okay.

[00:56:56] Yeah, that's fun to them.

[00:56:58] But anyway, it's never fails to amaze me.

[00:57:03] Last night I asked her about 35, I think, brothers there at the Scottish right meeting last night.

[00:57:13] I asked how many people listen to our show?

[00:57:18] Almost half of them did.

[00:57:20] And what was the average age in that room?

[00:57:22] The average age is not a room I have to say it's probably 75.

[00:57:27] Yeah, no, I'm serious and I knew that.

[00:57:30] But that's what I'm saying.

[00:57:32] That's an interesting suggestion.

[00:57:34] We think that this is only for the new young guys.

[00:57:37] No, no, no, no.

[00:57:38] Yeah, that audience is growing.

[00:57:41] Leaps in back there.

[00:57:42] Oh, here's another data point.

[00:57:44] They're learning how to find a pod.

[00:57:46] Yes, another data point.

[00:57:48] And the people who listen, most of them are officers in one form of body or another.

[00:57:53] Yeah, I mean that tends to be the people who have it in their lives.

[00:57:56] Yeah.

[00:57:57] The people that are thinking it all.

[00:57:59] And our junior, our right worshipal, junior grand, yeah, right worshipal.

[00:58:04] That's right.

[00:58:05] Junior grand war.

[00:58:06] Junior grand war.

[00:58:07] And listen to this show as well.

[00:58:09] Yes, that's true.

[00:58:10] Actually most of the line does.

[00:58:11] Yeah, most of the line does.

[00:58:13] They don't tell each other that they do, but they do know that they do.

[00:58:16] And of course there were some people that wanted to know how do I listen to the podcast.

[00:58:21] Yep.

[00:58:22] And I gave that information, but it was amazing to see that many people put their hand up and we listen.

[00:58:28] It's wonderful.

[00:58:29] It is.

[00:58:30] That's kind of enrobed you made.

[00:58:32] And that's very satisfying for me.

[00:58:35] The thing about this show and when I've been asked to describe the show.

[00:58:40] And it really is for me, it is getting together with some of my best friends and talking about something or talking to someone else.

[00:58:53] And sometimes we never know where the conversation's going to go.

[00:58:59] It's like tonight.

[00:59:00] We had a guest that couldn't come at the last minute and we're just going to have a show with us.

[00:59:06] You didn't walk in here with an agenda.

[00:59:08] You could probably tell.

[00:59:10] You know, the fact that the missing guest tonight is an esotericist would imply that there is some deeper meaning for the reason why he's not here today.

[00:59:21] That's right.

[00:59:22] So that we can have this conversation right now I'm not going to, I'm sorry.

[00:59:26] So it just be a good question to ask you guys since you've been here a while.

[00:59:31] We'll go ahead and we'll tell you.

[00:59:33] If I was to go and ask each one of you like who was the most shocking or intriguing guest that you interviewed.

[00:59:41] I'll do that.

[00:59:44] Jack, Jack.

[00:59:47] Well, the list could be endless.

[00:59:50] No, no, no, no.

[00:59:51] I have one and you guys all know who it is.

[00:59:53] It's Earl Fontanelle who is the host of the Masonic or of the Schwap.

[00:59:58] The secret history of Western esotericism podcast.

[01:00:05] And I would say that more than anyone, Earl Fontanelle affected my understanding of like philosophy.

[01:00:15] Episode 87.

[01:00:16] Yeah.

[01:00:17] What do you talk about?

[01:00:18] He, it's not as much what he talked about because I didn't really the arc of the conversation wasn't really well done.

[01:00:31] But in any case his podcast is really cool and we talked about, you know, one of the the phrase that I remember from that podcast is when he said wow.

[01:00:43] You know, we in the universities talk about philosophy.

[01:00:48] You guys in Freemasonry are putting it into practice.

[01:00:52] And I thought okay.

[01:00:55] Sure.

[01:00:56] You know, I'll take that.

[01:00:58] Yeah, that's exactly right.

[01:01:00] Keep going.

[01:01:01] That's exactly correct.

[01:01:02] That's, you know, we're the feet on the street and, you know, so that was, that was a good memory from that episode.

[01:01:09] So that for me is the one.

[01:01:10] Nice.

[01:01:11] Larry?

[01:01:12] I would say two.

[01:01:15] One was the author John Dickie.

[01:01:17] Oh, yeah.

[01:01:18] He was in England.

[01:01:19] He was a chap.

[01:01:20] He was phenomenal.

[01:01:21] He was really great.

[01:01:22] And it's John Dickie, the ICKIA, you can just Google it online.

[01:01:26] You can also buy his book which is really great by the way.

[01:01:30] But I think the one that had one of the most impacts on me was Ed Stum.

[01:01:39] Yeah.

[01:01:40] Yeah.

[01:01:41] What a show that was.

[01:01:42] And statistically when you look at the numbers that he had, it was incredible.

[01:01:48] Yeah.

[01:01:49] It was incredible.

[01:01:50] And he actually, now neither I can't say this in the long run but in the short run, he beat Gene Herod.

[01:01:55] For initially those numbers, he for the long time, he was the most listened to.

[01:02:01] That's right.

[01:02:02] That's right.

[01:02:03] Tim, do you know what episode that was?

[01:02:04] So people could listen to it.

[01:02:07] So what I love about our podcast is that you can go back and listen to other episodes.

[01:02:12] Yeah, exactly.

[01:02:13] You know, from one to one seventy four as of tonight.

[01:02:16] Yes, yes.

[01:02:17] I'll get that to you in a minute.

[01:02:19] It's a cool legacy for Pete too.

[01:02:21] It really is.

[01:02:22] I like that.

[01:02:23] Yeah.

[01:02:24] And rumor has it he likes cigars too.

[01:02:26] Oh, yeah.

[01:02:27] He likes cigars.

[01:02:28] He's just the grand smoke.

[01:02:29] Yeah.

[01:02:30] Grand smoke.

[01:02:31] Yeah.

[01:02:32] Grand smoke.

[01:02:33] Yeah.

[01:02:35] I'd have to say the one I mentioned earlier, for the TJ Griffin.

[01:02:39] TJ.

[01:02:40] Yes.

[01:02:41] Thank you.

[01:02:42] Oh, yeah.

[01:02:43] He does the vision program with Jose.

[01:02:47] Yes.

[01:02:48] Yeah.

[01:02:49] Yeah.

[01:02:50] That one was important probably from one that I wasn't a host on.

[01:02:56] And then I would agree with Larry Edstum was one of the early.

[01:03:00] Yeah, that was very impactful.

[01:03:01] That was impactful because he told his story.

[01:03:03] Oh, no.

[01:03:04] And if you've not heard his story, please, as soon as I scroll through here and I'll give

[01:03:12] you that episode number go back and listen to it because you talk about someone who's lived

[01:03:16] free masonry before.

[01:03:18] Whole entire life.

[01:03:19] Whole entire life.

[01:03:20] It's amazing.

[01:03:21] It really is.

[01:03:23] So that would be it.

[01:03:24] Josh how about you?

[01:03:25] Did you just say Edstum's episode?

[01:03:29] Yeah.

[01:03:30] Okay.

[01:03:31] I think it's because we have 72.

[01:03:34] 72 there it is.

[01:03:35] Okay.

[01:03:36] That's it.

[01:03:37] 72.

[01:03:38] I liked the Earl Fountain Hill from from Schwab as well.

[01:03:41] That was a cool one for me.

[01:03:43] Jamie Paul Lam was cool.

[01:03:46] Yeah.

[01:03:47] Michael Paul was cool.

[01:03:48] Yes.

[01:03:49] Yeah.

[01:03:50] And let's see, Ronald Bates, the lost purple bloodline.

[01:03:57] Yes.

[01:03:58] That was one of Larry's famous ones.

[01:04:01] Oh.

[01:04:02] That was a whole what was your favorite about that?

[01:04:06] It was just very memorable.

[01:04:08] It was memorable.

[01:04:09] Very well researched.

[01:04:10] Yeah.

[01:04:11] It's a great depth of research on the episode.

[01:04:14] Yeah.

[01:04:15] But my favorite is probably the second visit by Matt Rankowski.

[01:04:19] Oh, we all got COVID.

[01:04:22] Oh yeah.

[01:04:23] COVID.

[01:04:25] Matt, if you're listening to this we still thank you.

[01:04:28] Oh, we big.

[01:04:29] Masonic gum.

[01:04:30] So you know I would be remiss.

[01:04:32] I really think.

[01:04:33] And we gave him a award that night too.

[01:04:35] I really think the most significant episode we ever did was the digital order of the

[01:04:43] night's quarantine.

[01:04:44] Oh yeah.

[01:04:45] Without a doubt.

[01:04:47] I think it transformed not only this show but our listeners all over the world.

[01:04:56] And so Jack, thank you for that for your role in that.

[01:05:01] You know thanks to Pete obviously for that Seth others that contributed to that thing.

[01:05:07] It came at a time that we.

[01:05:13] This podcast March of 2020 was.

[01:05:16] It was needed.

[01:05:17] Yeah.

[01:05:18] It was needed and people look at that and we still get listeners on that it's the number

[01:05:24] still tickle on.

[01:05:26] It came at a time where we didn't really know what was going to happen with COVID.

[01:05:31] And we pulled a bunch of folks together and.

[01:05:38] Yeah Larry you were supposed to be the narrator of that.

[01:05:41] I was in the hospital having my insides removed.

[01:05:44] Yeah exactly.

[01:05:45] Yeah see he's always trying to get out of an episode.

[01:05:48] Excuse is excused Larry.

[01:05:50] But it's it's certainly been a fun ride and, you know, and I feel like and Josh, I don't

[01:05:57] know if you feel this way or not, I always feel like for me it feels like I've been part

[01:06:01] of like half the episodes or whatever maybe.

[01:06:02] I mean, you and I came around on what?

[01:06:06] Episodes 69 or something like that 68 something like that.

[01:06:12] I mean, we've been here for over a hundred episodes.

[01:06:16] Well, we'd had our hundred celebration a while back,

[01:06:18] but 67.

[01:06:20] 67?

[01:06:21] Yeah.

[01:06:22] I mean, you know,

[01:06:23] I think what makes the show really different

[01:06:28] and hopefully our listeners will think outstanding

[01:06:31] is the fact that

[01:06:33] in Monest

[01:06:34] of all the nine years,

[01:06:36] the eight years that we're finishing tonight,

[01:06:39] we do have some memorable shows.

[01:06:42] We've had memorable guests.

[01:06:46] We're kind of different in that respect,

[01:06:48] and we're different in the way we present things.

[01:06:52] But one of the things I've learned a long time ago,

[01:06:55] a podcast

[01:06:57] in order for it to have a good following needs to be entertaining.

[01:07:02] There are podcasts out there that

[01:07:05] and I'm not naming them

[01:07:07] and I'm talking about every spectrum of podcasts

[01:07:09] that lecture people that go into great detail,

[01:07:12] that study, I mean, they're brilliant podcasts,

[01:07:15] but they're also boring.

[01:07:19] And I'm talking about the universe of podcasts.

[01:07:23] There's a lot of them out there and a lot of them are.

[01:07:25] Well, I've not interesting.

[01:07:27] Go ahead.

[01:07:28] Larry, I kind of agree with you on,

[01:07:30] sorry,

[01:07:32] like you mentioned about all the guests,

[01:07:35] and we talk about the memorable times

[01:07:39] and most intriguing guests or shocking guests.

[01:07:43] And it kind of reflects back to

[01:07:45] when we talked about guest being at Blue Lodge

[01:07:48] or any Masonic body.

[01:07:53] For them to be here,

[01:07:56] your attention to them is 100%.

[01:08:01] There are the guests.

[01:08:02] We want to know more about them.

[01:08:05] What makes them tick?

[01:08:06] What makes them musonically dedicated?

[01:08:09] And I think by the listeners hearing that stuff,

[01:08:12] really

[01:08:14] makes things very valuable about what goes on in Pennsylvania.

[01:08:18] And it couldn't be done without the people in this room.

[01:08:20] Well, I like to think,

[01:08:23] we do since we are in Pennsylvania.

[01:08:26] No, what goes on in Pennsylvania,

[01:08:28] but I think we have a tremendously broad audience

[01:08:32] in other countries and then throughout the United States.

[01:08:36] That can identify what we're doing with our lodges

[01:08:40] and their grand lodges and so forth.

[01:08:42] So our reach is rather large.

[01:08:46] And I,

[01:08:49] yeah, we do talk a lot about our home

[01:08:51] because we have to, this is where we live

[01:08:54] and we can bring that information out.

[01:08:59] But yet we still have a good following

[01:09:01] that can identify with us.

[01:09:03] And the fact that I think the way we do the show

[01:09:06] makes it happen.

[01:09:09] It's very organic.

[01:09:11] Yeah, it really is.

[01:09:12] We don't come in here with a big laundry list of questions.

[01:09:16] Occasionally we will come in here with an episode

[01:09:19] and have really, I don't have a question on my list.

[01:09:22] I mean, when we started the night,

[01:09:24] we had no idea where this was going to start.

[01:09:26] And we still don't have to.

[01:09:28] But that's the beauty of this is it really is

[01:09:31] and it go back to what I said a minute ago

[01:09:33] it's five friends getting together,

[01:09:35] having a conversation,

[01:09:38] becoming closer friends and brothers

[01:09:42] within the craft.

[01:09:43] And I think it's a niche within

[01:09:47] within the podcast world.

[01:09:50] If you want a research based show,

[01:09:56] a cerebral type show,

[01:09:58] they're out there and they're very good

[01:10:00] if that's what you're looking for.

[01:10:01] Exactly.

[01:10:02] If you want the five guys around the table

[01:10:08] cutting up and carrying on

[01:10:10] and trying to mix some fun with some learning, that's us.

[01:10:15] And there's all over the world.

[01:10:16] I mean, I'm also pleased that there are others out there

[01:10:20] who are attempting to create podcasts

[01:10:24] to fill their, what they see as needs

[01:10:28] in their communities as well.

[01:10:30] Just so you know, Jack has made more noise to us.

[01:10:32] And I'm sorry.

[01:10:33] In eight years of doing the project,

[01:10:36] he is excited about his new earphone.

[01:10:40] Look at that.

[01:10:41] I just want to hear a new sound.

[01:10:44] This thing's awesome.

[01:10:44] I love this new eye text.

[01:10:46] Well, I'm sorry everybody.

[01:10:48] No more toys.

[01:10:49] Let me kind of sum it up and just say that we begin our ninth.

[01:10:54] I won't be here.

[01:10:55] That's right.

[01:10:57] Actually, but we'll begin our ninth year

[01:11:00] two weeks and we're going to continue doing what we're doing.

[01:11:05] We're going to entertain, we're going to educate

[01:11:08] the education part of that's more organic

[01:11:11] and you know, it's not intentional.

[01:11:14] Sorry.

[01:11:16] It happens.

[01:11:17] Sorry, sorry.

[01:11:18] And we're going to continue that.

[01:11:19] We're going to have good guests.

[01:11:20] I mean, I'm looking over there.

[01:11:22] We're booked through almost beginning of fall.

[01:11:25] Yeah, September is our next open slide.

[01:11:27] I've got some people for September

[01:11:29] and beginning of year.

[01:11:30] So, I mean, and we've got a number of events this summer.

[01:11:34] One of the, we tend to, we don't turn out

[01:11:37] the lights in the summer, but our episodes are not

[01:11:42] as scheduled as they normally are because we try

[01:11:45] to get around to various events in the area.

[01:11:49] We'll be at a golf outing.

[01:11:50] And we do a lot of live stream.

[01:11:53] We'll be some live streaming.

[01:11:55] We'll be at the Redding Cigar place, I believe.

[01:11:57] I think that we're, there's going to be at least a couple

[01:11:59] of us up there.

[01:12:01] Throughout the summer, there's going

[01:12:02] to be events going on.

[01:12:04] It will be creating content.

[01:12:08] But then this fall, we are already starting

[01:12:10] to get people booked for the fall.

[01:12:12] So it's Josh, you were going to say something

[01:12:15] a minute ago.

[01:12:16] Did we miss the moment?

[01:12:17] Pass.

[01:12:18] OK.

[01:12:20] All right.

[01:12:20] Well, we're going to take one more quick break.

[01:12:22] I think Walter is coming in as we speak.

[01:12:25] And so when we come back, we'll hear from Walter

[01:12:27] and then we will wrap up tonight's episode.

[01:12:29] Yay.

[01:12:36] In Masonic news today, due to the recent solar eclipse,

[01:12:42] lodges around the country have begun

[01:12:43] to remove one of the three lesser lights.

[01:12:47] Said Grandmaster, who's it's of the Grand Lodge

[01:12:51] of Central Arkansas?

[01:12:53] Well, we're changing the ritual to say

[01:12:57] as the sun opens today and the moon just gets in the damn way.

[01:13:02] That's the Masonic news so much it was.

[01:13:08] Criqets.

[01:13:09] Come, come, come, come, come.

[01:13:11] Sure, sure.

[01:13:12] No, no, yeah, yeah.

[01:13:13] Can't hold the old ones.

[01:13:15] Oh, you know, you go back to the last episode.

[01:13:17] What happened?

[01:13:18] So it's Jack.

[01:13:19] What happens in Arkansas stays in here.

[01:13:21] All right, exactly.

[01:13:22] So you know, Jack, you had some comments on our FaceSlam page

[01:13:28] thingy.

[01:13:29] A flip book.

[01:13:30] Yeah, hoping you were praying for cloudy day.

[01:13:33] Oh, I wanted to mind soon.

[01:13:34] Yeah, I just wanted the whole thing to be a total wipe out.

[01:13:36] And it cracks me up.

[01:13:38] And I'm sorry if this offends you or if you

[01:13:41] are the subject of this next comment.

[01:13:44] But there were people that booked hotel rooms in Texas

[01:13:46] in Oklahoma three years ago looking forward

[01:13:51] to this solar eclipse.

[01:13:52] Yeah, think that through.

[01:13:55] All right, a 100% weather dependent event.

[01:13:59] And you booked a hotel three years ago

[01:14:01] in the highest probability of clear skies

[01:14:05] in the country historically, right?

[01:14:08] Rained like a mother hugger for the whole day.

[01:14:13] In boy, I just think you just man plans, God laughs.

[01:14:19] Right?

[01:14:20] Exactly.

[01:14:21] That's cool.

[01:14:21] I think we should cancel our flight reservations to Spain for 2027.

[01:14:27] For 2027.

[01:14:28] Yeah, you convinced me, Jack.

[01:14:30] I'm very, very emotional.

[01:14:35] It's just like what are you kidding?

[01:14:37] He's such a party.

[01:14:38] No, I have a friend actually a brother in a little rock area

[01:14:43] at Arkansas and it went right over, you know, right

[01:14:45] over his house basically.

[01:14:47] And the state cops for months were holding town meetings

[01:14:52] about, you know, people are going to be coming from all

[01:14:55] over the place and they're going to be camping out

[01:14:57] under the overpasses and all that.

[01:15:00] And there was all this build up to it

[01:15:01] and I got a text message from today says, yeah, just ended.

[01:15:06] No big deal.

[01:15:07] I'm going to say something that's not going

[01:15:12] to be received right, but it's Arkansas.

[01:15:15] Oh, no, no, no.

[01:15:17] It's a great stage.

[01:15:19] Do we have listeners from there?

[01:15:20] I'm sure we probably have.

[01:15:22] I'm sure we used to have listeners.

[01:15:24] Don't get me wrong for everybody who really appreciates,

[01:15:28] you know, eclipses.

[01:15:30] It's all good.

[01:15:31] I get it.

[01:15:31] It was cool.

[01:15:32] I got the glasses I saw it.

[01:15:34] Yeah, I got a picture, you know, but man, we were

[01:15:39] as a species, we just get so wrapped up on stuff

[01:15:44] like, but it, but you know what?

[01:15:46] It feels into our conspiracy theory.

[01:15:49] I don't know.

[01:15:50] It's all over the place.

[01:15:51] Do you think the solar eclipse was a masonic event?

[01:15:54] No.

[01:15:55] I definitely think so.

[01:15:57] I'm not saying it's aliens.

[01:15:59] Not allowed to talk about that, Ricky.

[01:16:02] You've not achieved it.

[01:16:03] High enough degree to understand.

[01:16:05] He just said still proby.

[01:16:07] That's right.

[01:16:08] Still a proby.

[01:16:09] All right.

[01:16:10] Well guys, it's been a funny year.

[01:16:12] We're looking forward to another eight.

[01:16:15] Wait, did I sign something?

[01:16:17] No, no, no, no thanks.

[01:16:19] So you're going to be around for our next eight years?

[01:16:24] Hopefully.

[01:16:24] Good.

[01:16:25] All right.

[01:16:26] Good.

[01:16:27] I hope the hell I can remember my name, but I don't care.

[01:16:31] We may need a chairlift to get Larry down.

[01:16:33] Marsha Johnson.

[01:16:35] Your name is Marsha Johnson.

[01:16:36] That's right.

[01:16:37] All right.

[01:16:38] So what we got coming up, masonically, now in the next time

[01:16:45] we record Josh, I'm going to go to you.

[01:16:48] I don't think I have anything really to it.

[01:16:52] OK.

[01:16:53] Maybe.

[01:16:57] OK.

[01:16:59] Try it real hard.

[01:17:00] All right, we'll come back to you.

[01:17:01] Ricky, how about you?

[01:17:01] Have a put out of show on Monday.

[01:17:03] Well, this coming Friday, we had this Harrisburg Scottish

[01:17:07] right stated meeting.

[01:17:09] So I will be attending that as an officer of the Princess

[01:17:13] of Jerusalem.

[01:17:16] April 15, which is Monday, is the we have councils number seven

[01:17:23] stated meeting.

[01:17:24] Yes, we do.

[01:17:24] And you get to have the pleasure of meeting

[01:17:27] our new Thrice illustrious master, the Tim Deadman.

[01:17:34] Also known as Tim Tim.

[01:17:38] I didn't know that by him.

[01:17:41] And my favorite of all events this coming up is the last Sunday

[01:17:49] I believe in the month is Uber Grotto.

[01:17:53] Uber Grotto.

[01:17:55] Yep.

[01:17:56] Uber is the Uber.

[01:17:57] Yeah, there you go.

[01:17:59] Ah, he's what you do there.

[01:18:02] Yeah.

[01:18:03] If I have no drinks there, I'm going to ask for Uber.

[01:18:05] Yeah.

[01:18:06] There you go.

[01:18:06] From the U bar and the very best is the Uber is the Uber

[01:18:11] Uber Uber.

[01:18:12] Yeah, Uber.

[01:18:13] Yeah.

[01:18:14] That's our ceremonial too.

[01:18:16] Yeah, I'm very anxious but nervous, which I think I'm missing it

[01:18:21] because I saw Larry with the sword last time.

[01:18:24] You're missing it.

[01:18:25] I believe I Larry had the sword last time and that was very

[01:18:28] similar to the Uber.

[01:18:30] The bar attack.

[01:18:31] But oh, you are okay.

[01:18:33] Yeah.

[01:18:34] Yes, I will be in put it.

[01:18:35] Uber a tar, did you say?

[01:18:37] Uber a tar.

[01:18:38] No, he's Larry.

[01:18:39] Larry said it.

[01:18:40] You brought from Iowa.

[01:18:42] What?

[01:18:43] All right, back in the, come on boys, come on.

[01:18:46] Dad!

[01:18:47] Jack, what do you got to come on up?

[01:18:48] He's picking on me.

[01:18:51] What do I have going on, masonically speaking?

[01:18:55] Well, a Friday a week is how we say it here in in wonkester

[01:19:03] colony.

[01:19:03] Longester?

[01:19:04] So Friday a week I will be attending an enter to print its mason degree at

[01:19:09] Garibaldi Lodge, New York.

[01:19:11] Cool.

[01:19:12] One of the districts is having a bus and we're all going up for that so

[01:19:19] that should be an absolute ridiculous cool thing.

[01:19:23] Very nice.

[01:19:25] Larry?

[01:19:26] I have grotto, tall cedars, ghost and gray iron.

[01:19:32] But remember, I'm not going to be here for the next show in the 24th year.

[01:19:36] You're not going to be here for the next show.

[01:19:37] And I'm not going to be here for any of the May shows.

[01:19:40] I will be out of town.

[01:19:43] So it's a May not show.

[01:19:45] It's a May not show, right?

[01:19:46] May not show.

[01:19:49] May not Larry, okay.

[01:19:51] So I will miss it but we may have to have a segment like where's Waldo.

[01:19:59] We'll do one where's Larry.

[01:20:02] We dropped the ball on the whole flat Larry thing.

[01:20:04] Right, yeah, the flat Larry thing got a bell flight.

[01:20:07] It's relatively successful when you had it.

[01:20:10] But it's not a lake for a year.

[01:20:12] To me I found it obnoxious but that's besides.

[01:20:14] Oh my God.

[01:20:15] How funny.

[01:20:16] It was the best picture you ever.

[01:20:18] So a couple of things that I'm doing and then a couple of your nauts.

[01:20:23] Well, I'm here.

[01:20:26] On April the 17th, Eureka West Shore lodge number three hundred and two.

[01:20:30] Well host, it's past master dinner is reading our past masters get together twice a year

[01:20:37] for dinner and that's coming up always a fun time on the 18th to Tony Lodge up in

[01:20:42] Reading will be having its past master recognition.

[01:20:46] Yeah.

[01:20:47] If you've never attended that, you should when is that the 18th?

[01:20:49] The 18th of April April and 75 Harley Adman is now alive.

[01:20:54] Who remembers that famous day and year?

[01:20:57] What is that Larry of the midnight ride of Paul review?

[01:21:00] That's it.

[01:21:01] There it is.

[01:21:02] All right.

[01:21:03] Saturday, the 20th is council deliberation training in Harrisburg.

[01:21:10] You'll be at that Ricky.

[01:21:13] The 21st Sunday is cigar lodge up at best I believe on the 23rd.

[01:21:23] Don't forget to vote if you're in Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania election day.

[01:21:26] I'm going to be judge of elections again in my area.

[01:21:31] The 27th which is a Saturday, Pennsylvania grand council is meeting.

[01:21:39] I think that's in where's the casino parks?

[01:21:44] No, the one up.

[01:21:46] Grantville.

[01:21:47] Grantville.

[01:21:48] Grantville I believe.

[01:21:50] No, it's at the Sheridan.

[01:21:53] It's at the Sheridan in Harrisburg.

[01:21:54] Yeah, it's not a casino everybody.

[01:21:56] It was.

[01:21:57] It was before.

[01:21:58] It's an hour, Johnson's.

[01:21:59] And then the 28th.

[01:22:00] And then the 28th.

[01:22:01] And then the 28th.

[01:22:02] And it was free.

[01:22:03] It was pre-presented.

[01:22:04] Just find the arjaro.

[01:22:05] That's it.

[01:22:06] On the 28th, Ubar Grotto will be having its ceremonial and for all Uberians out there,

[01:22:13] it can only mean one thing and that's free meat.

[01:22:17] Free meat for the night.

[01:22:18] So it's very disturbing.

[01:22:19] It's a free dinner.

[01:22:20] Yeah, it's included.

[01:22:23] It's meat, yeah.

[01:22:25] All right.

[01:22:26] So guys, it's good episode and Larry be safe.

[01:22:31] You have to call us while you're away.

[01:22:33] Yeah, we can do that.

[01:22:35] We've got some great guests coming up so look forward to those.

[01:22:40] Josh, you ready to open that gate and let those chickens out?

[01:23:18] contributors.

[01:23:20] And to our listeners who always make doing the show worth more out.

[01:23:26] It's just what a kind of finish up on a low note tonight, kind of celebrating the

[01:23:35] eighth version and beginning of the night.

[01:23:39] And this is for me.

[01:23:42] There is so much to know, so much to learn, so much to do before the light goes out.

[01:23:51] Everybody have a great day and thanks for listening.

[01:23:55] This is Larry Mirrors.

[01:23:56] Hey Larry, we don't want any lights going out.

[01:23:59] We'll be turning any lights out.

[01:24:02] Not my lights!

[01:24:05] I'm sure the lodge paid their lecture bill.

[01:24:08] Just saying so much stuff at the end of the eighth and beginning of the night.

[01:24:11] Okay, thank you.

[01:24:12] Make your lights go out.
